Cabinet Lighting
Many kitchens have cabinets lining every wall. Though it is not always noticeable, the cabinets can cast shadows, and thus the counters beneath the cabinets will not always be as well-lit as they could be. For some, this is not a problem. For others, though, especially people who do delicate baking and decorating, this can really slow them down. It could also be inconvenient for people who have weak eyes and need a good, strong light source near any working area. In other situations, people may not want light fixtures on or in their ceilings for whatever reason. Perhaps they find them ugly, or can’t find the right ones. In both these cases, an obvious and easy solution is the installation of cabinet lighting. Cabinet lighting can be installed on the tops and on the bottoms of cabinets, lighting the counters directly and the ceiling indirectly.
These light fixtures can be single fixtures, strip lights, or bar lights. Most of them are very easy to install. You can also buy cabinets with the lights already installed and wired into the furniture. Some can be wired to the switch, while others just need to be attached to the cabinet in some way, and then plugged into the nearest electrical outlet. They also range in price, literally making them suitable for any budget. Some types of cabinet lighting can be found for as long as six dollars a piece. If you have any questions about the type you should by or the installation process, you should research online or go to the local hardware store to ask a knowledgeable person in the area.
