Landscape Lighting

Landscape lighting refers to light fixtures used outside of the home to illuminate the garden, the patio, the pool, the yard, and anything else you might need to have illuminated outside the home. The light fixtures serve several functions, including highlighting or emphasizing, the most lovely points in your garden, promoting safety in your yard or pool after dark, and even providing extra security—a would-be thief cannot hide in your bushes or hedges if the whole thing is lit up with attractive yet affordable light fixtures. If you have a garden, yard, pool, or patio that you would like to enjoy after the sun goes down, especially in the summer when it is often more comfortable to sit around outside, then installing the proper landscape lighting is a good choice for you.

There are many different types of landscape lighting. There is the basic up/down lighting, which refers to the fixtures and lights you put directly into the ground, and they light from the bottom up. These heads are adjustable, so you can fix them straight up and down, pointing towards the flower beds, or pointing towards the path. That is not to be confused with path lighting. These are light fixtures that actually stand, instead of sitting close to the ground. Think something like a street lamp, and in fact, some are designed to look like street lamps. Finally there is deck and step lighting. These fixtures can be placed on the floor of the desk, on the wall, on the ceiling, on the corners, and almost anywhere else you can think to put a light.
